SHOC offers a 1 day course that is designed for delegates who require the ability to design and create a Safe System of Work when working near all underground utilities In accordance with Health and Safety Guidance HSG47 and Construction Design and Management Regulation 34.
This guidance outlines the dangers which can arise from work near underground services and gives advice on how to reduce the risks
It is aimed mainly at clients, designers, planning supervisors, employers, operators, managers and supervisors and applies to situations where work involves penetrating the ground at or below surface level.

- Introduction to GS6 ( avoidance of overhead power lines)
- Working in close proximity to sub stations
- Special requirements for safe working in close proximity to high pressure pipe lines
- Understanding utilities drawings and plans
